For me, ADUs aren't primarily about putting another building in the backyard.

They're about people.

Maybe Mom or Dad needs to be closer, but everyone still values independence.

Maybe an adult child is trying to establish themselves in one of the most expensive housing markets in the country.

Maybe your family has changed, but you love your neighborhood and don't want to move.

An ADU can create another option.

I particularly like the idea of being close without giving up privacy.

A thoughtfully designed ADU can give someone their own kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and living space while keeping family only a few steps away.

And because life changes, the purpose of that space can change too.

What begins as a home for a parent might someday become space for an adult child, guests, work or another chapter we can't predict today.
