Why CityPaks Uses Structural Insulated Panels

By Lori | CityPaks

When I began thinking seriously about how CityPaks should be built, I wasn't interested in simply recreating conventional construction on a smaller scale.

I wanted to ask a different question:

Where can we make the building itself smarter?

Structural insulated panels — or SIPs — are part of that answer.

Instead of assembling walls entirely piece by piece in the traditional way, SIP construction combines structural and insulating functions into engineered panels.

For CityPaks, the appeal is broader than any single feature.

It's about creating a more controlled, repeatable building system while still delivering a residential home.

It also fits our larger philosophy:

Standardization where it creates efficiency. Flexibility where it creates value.

We're not trying to reinvent a house simply for the sake of being different.

We're looking at the traditional process and asking where engineering and thoughtful standardization can make building an ADU better.
